A CALL TO ALL
This is a call to all of you.
I am asking you to do something very important.
I am asking you to do one of the most difficult things humanly possible.
I am asking you for MORE than you may believe is DESERVED.
I am asking you for MORE than you may believe YOU HAVE right now.
I am asking you for the MOST DIFFICULT and why typically only a few follow through.
But TODAY I am asking ALL OF YOU.
I am asking you for your VERY BEST in the face of the very worst.
I am asking for you to put down the WHY and answer the WHAT.
I am asking you to stop feeding the shooter’s motivation and to remove your focus on HIS story.
His deed is done.
WHO he was and the WHY can NEVER undo the WHAT that has occurred.
I am asking you to shift your focus and to connect with what TRULY needs YOUR attention right now.
I am asking you to focus on those suffering that NEED TENDING.
WE ARE A NATION.
WE are NOT just our own families.
I am asking you to focus on all the precious pieces of our existence.
I am asking you to NOT fear it’s further destruction, but to STRENGTHEN it’s foundation.
WE CAN create better attitudes, perspectives and actions.
We CAN create motivation and support for those directly affected by this tragedy.
DO NOT magnetize your pain with their pain.
Be the light that they so desperately need as they walk through the darkness of loss, injury and pain.
Yes, I am asking you to overcome your own anger and fear.
Yes, I am asking you for a tremendous act of STRENGTH
This is within your power.
Do not let your fear and anger distract you from WHAT is needed right now.
The catalyst for the spread of negativity is FEAR and ANGER.
I am asking you to rise above the contagion.
We have many lessons in our history that teach us over and over, yet we fail to focus consistently on our own contributions.
If the surviving families and injured victims were to look you in the eye right now, do you believe it is anger and fear they need reflecting back at them?
NO, they need to see your HOPE, your STRENGTH and your LOVE
Yes, I am asking you to go further than you think is realistic.
Yes, I am asking you to be more than you think is pragmatic.
Yes, I am asking for the seemingly impossible from you.
I believe in you.
Answer the call.
Make a difference.
-Signed,
A Survivor
